Everything between your bank feed and your accountant.

Service 01

Monthly bookkeeping and reconciliation

The core service, and for most clients the only one they need.

Reconciliation is the part most people skip and it is the part that matters. Matching a transaction in software is not the same as proving your books agree with the bank. We reconcile properly, which is why our clients do not get surprises at year end.

  • Every bank, card and loan account reconciled to the statement, not just matched in the software
  • Transactions categorised against a chart of accounts built for your industry
  • Accounts receivable and payable kept current so you know who owes you and what you owe
  • Books closed by the sixth of the following month, every month
  • A short written note each month on anything that looks unusual
Service 02

Catch up and clean up

For books that have fallen behind, or were never quite right to begin with.

Nobody enjoys admitting they are behind. We have picked up files that were eleven months out and files that had not been touched in three years. It is routine work for us and there is no lecture attached. Most catch ups finish inside three weeks.

  • Full rebuild of prior periods, however far back you need
  • Correction of miscategorised and duplicated history
  • Reconciliation of every account back to the statements
  • Prior year comparatives restored so trends actually mean something
  • A clean handoff file for your CPA when we are done
Service 03

Payroll

Staff paid on time and the filings handled before they are due.

Payroll is the one area where being late costs real money in penalties. It runs on a fixed calendar and it does not slip.

  • Payroll processed on your schedule, weekly, fortnightly or monthly
  • Federal, state and local payroll tax filings and deposits
  • Quarterly 941s and annual W2s prepared and filed
  • Contractor payments tracked and 1099s issued in January
  • New hire reporting and wage garnishment handling where needed
Service 04

Financial reporting you can read

The numbers, plus what they mean, in plain language.

A report nobody reads is not reporting. Every month you get a short note in plain English alongside the statements: what moved, why it probably moved, and the one or two things worth your attention.

  • Profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow summary every month
  • Comparison against prior month and prior year
  • Margin by job, product line or location where your business needs it
  • A one page written summary of what changed and what to watch
  • Custom reports built around the decisions you actually make
Service 05

Tax season preparation

Your CPA gets a clean file instead of a shoebox.

We do not file your taxes, and we will tell you plainly that you want a CPA for that. What we do is make their job fast. A reconciled, documented file usually means quicker filing and a lower bill from them.

  • Year end reconciliation and closing entries
  • Fixed asset and depreciation schedules kept current
  • Documentation organised and indexed for review
  • Direct coordination with your CPA or tax preparer
  • 1099 preparation and filing for contractors
Common questions

Questions about the services

Can I pick just one service?

Yes. Plenty of clients start with a catch up and stop there, or take payroll only. Most end up on monthly bookkeeping because it is the one that removes the recurring headache.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a week of the first call. Setup takes a few days once we have access, and if you need a catch up we begin that immediately.

Is there a contract?

Month to month. We would rather keep clients because the work is good than because they are locked in.

What do you need from me each month?

Almost nothing after setup. Bank feeds come in automatically. Occasionally we will email about a transaction we cannot identify, and that is usually the extent of it.

Not sure which of these you need?

That is exactly what the first call is for. We look at your books, tell you honestly what needs doing, and quote a fixed monthly price.
